The Movie story deals with Venkataratnam Naidu a young boy who lives with his younger half-brother, stepfather Naidu and mother in Kondaveedu which is a village in Guntur District. His stepfather is always partial towards his half-brother which constantly angers Venkataratnam. He starts to not care about what other people think about him and renames himself after "Gabbar Singh", a popular antagonist character from Sholay. His anger towards his brother and father grows and he runs away from home. His stepfather, Naidu catches him and joins him in a boarding school away from Kondaveedu. 21 years later, a scene shows a gang of robbers trying to steal money from a bank in Kondaveedu, when Gabbar Singh, now a cop, tries to recover the money by beating up the robbers. It is revealed that Gabbar Singh is now posted as a C.I. for the Kondaveedu region. His anger towards his brother and Naidu remains the same and lives separately from them. He wants to live with his mother in his new house, but she instead wants him to stay with her and Naidu. Ajay is a gambling addict and has loans all over the village. Gabbar Singh falls in love with a handicraft vendor named Bhagya Lakshmi, whom he chances upon during a police raid that he conducts against gambling. It is revealed that the robbers who tried to steal are actually the henchmen of an upcoming politician named Siddhappa Naidu. He with the help of his uncle want to be a MLA of Kondaveedu. He meets Gabbar Singh and tries to appreciate him for catching the robbers. Gabbar Singh flatly refuses and tells Siddhappa that he actually knows who he is and tells him to behave himself

The movie story deals with Nagabhushanam who escapes a murder attempt from two assassins at Coorg who later threaten him to kill soon. The story shifts to Hyderabad where Nandu, a lonely college student lives. He spends his time with his friends and happens to fall in love in first sight with a girl named Akarsha who stays with her grandmother Baby Shalini. With his wits and tactics he tries to make Akarsha fall in love with him and succeeds after a brief time. Nandu accompanies Akarsha to her sister's marriage in her hometown and by then, Nandu is treated as a family friend by Akarsha's family. That night, Nagabhushanam is killed by Nandu and those two assassins who happen to be a team. It is shown later that Nandu used Akshara as a bait to reach Nagabhushanam to kill him. After the murder, Nandu makes sue that no clues are left at the spot. Police officer Avinash, who is investigating the case, finds that Nandu is behind those killings. When Avinash tries to arrest Nandu, he kidnaps Akarsha at gun point & escapes the arrest. When she asks him why he murdered her father, he reveals his past. Nandu's real name is Ramu who loves a girl named Ammulu who lives in a village named Adityapuram and later gains her love too. Their families also accept for their marriage. Nagabhushanam along with home minister Umapathi and his son Bhikshapathi plans to grab a land that was very fertile. Bhikshapathi is a womanizer and lusts over Ammulu when she confronts him. When he misbehaves with her, he is attacked by Ramu which makes them rivals. The trio resort to lot of bloodshed and finally grab the land and share among themselves. In that process, Ramu loses Ammulu and his near and dear ones and migrates to Hyderabad and changes his name to Nandu. He also tells that he had only killed Akarsha's brother and leaves her safely at her home through his friends. Through a girl, Nandu plans to invite Bhikshapathi to a youth fest as the chief guest. Bhikshapathi lusts at her and accepts to attend. There he sees Ramu as Nandu and plans to attack him with his henchmen but he escapes. Later he informs Bhikshapathi that he kidnapped Umapathi and challenges him to face him at Adityapuram. When Nandu kills Bhikshapathi after a brief duel, Umapati dies because of heart arrest. The film ends with Nandu starting a trust in the name of his mother in the village and Akarsha teaching the children there.
